Hi, I have a question. My adult (almost 3 years old) male blue tegu stopped feeding about a month ago. I'm not *really* concerned; prior to this cessation he was getting chubby enough that I cut back on his feeding (formerly 3 mice a week, MWF), and he's still energetic, strong and has a nice fat tail base.

However, he won't eat much. I've tried all sizes of mice, and some chicken-chunks, which he responded to better than the mice. He displays interest in mice, picking them up and shaking them, but then he just leaves them.

He's never brumated or anything, but could this be breeding season? Or does he just need to lose some weight before he gets truly hungry again? He's not *obese*, though.

I'm not terribly concerned about his health: he's as strong and adventurous as ever. But I am wondering what's up, and if I can expect this every spring. If it makes a difference, there is a window in the room he's kept in, and I'm in OH, so he could have detected changes in day length.

Any ideas? I've found nothing on the web about this.
