What would you breed him to?

RyanT May 20, 2005 10:52 PM

I really like this adult male. (Obviously, since I bought him.) He's a possible super. Produced from a female from Rich Ihle's first ever litter of salmons bred to a CA male, then one of the hypo males from that litter bred back to the mother. You can definitely see the CA influence. He also has a wide range of color variation. The thing is, I can't really decide what to breed him to. I find sperm plugs in his bowl like once a week so I'd like to figure it out soon. I don't think he'd make the best hypo Hoggs yet being kind of dark but I was thinking maybe bred to a cleaner female hypo, or better yet super. Then breed one of those offspring to a Hogg. There's also a CA hypo female in the classifieds right now that I think would be really good for him but she wouldn't be ready to breed until at least next year. Any opinions? Thanks. Ryan.

I love the blue in him. That's what makes me think he would compliment a Hogg well. He' got great orange too.

If your not in a big rush breed it to a normal female to see if he's a real super, or breed him to anoth hypo.
