it could be a weller's salamander

It does a bit-but they don't range in PA-I should have mentioned that to begin with.

Thanks and sorry about that.

Slimy and Wehrle's are the only 2 that have that look like this and about the same size.

When you pick it up does it leave on your hands this VERY sticky substance that cannot be washed off, you must scrub(very hard) or wear off? I know slimy's do this. I am not sure at all about Werhle's. It is a very beautiful salamander. M**********

Nope-No slime (goop)(yukky stuff)-I 've had that unpleasant experience before.

That was one of the reasons I'm wondering. The second was not having seen a Slimy with yellow markings and so few spots. I
ve seen them with white, silver and bule spots but not yellow

I tried counting the coastal grooves but that didn't make any sense to the books.

Thanks-I still you or someone can tell me.

Definitely a slimy salamander-Plethodon glutinosis. It is most def. not Wehrle's or Weller's, as someone suggested. Also, many/most species of salamanders can leave you with a white, sticky substance after handling or being stressed.

Thank-you ^_^ That's all I really wanted know-for sure what it is.

I had already assumed it was a Slimy, just one like I had never seen before- but I needed to be sure.

Thanks again ^_^
