What does everyone use for lighting? Is it neccesary to use a light with an undertank heater? Is sun light filtered through a blind sufficient?
Thanks in advance.

It is necessary for snakes to have their photo period, so they don't get stressed. But you need to find small hideout for it that would allow them to hide in the dark ( being nocturnal ), just big enough for it; they don't like a hideout that is too big because they don't feel secured. Provide two hideouts, one at the basking spot and the other at the cool spot. They may choose hotter place, eventhough they don't like it, if there are no other hideout. And, yes, the filtering screen is ok...as long as they can tell the difference between night and day easily, then you should be ok.
