Alwen feeding

The pet store said she had been eating mealworms well, so I got mealworms. I couldn't get the really really small ones, so I had to get the next size up. I have bigger ones for Melly. Melly eats like two big ones, normally she will stop when she isn't hungry anymore. Anyway, I wanted to know if babies know when they are full? Some birds don't and will eat themselves to death. If not, what is a good amount of medium/small mealworms a baby should eat. I think she is maybe a month or two, not sure though, she is tiny though. She ate two this morning....which is awesome..her first feeding at home .

Thanks

I'm not sure how many mealworms a baby will eat, because I have never fed a baby mealworms; I start with crickets, but I know that they can be hard to digest so you might want to try a little variety in what you offer. If you stuff a baby full of mealworms they will start to pass whole mealworms through their digestive tract. Just use common sense and you should be fine.

I got my girl before she was two months and she usually ate around 10 small mealworms or so at a time. She always stopped after a while, so I'm pretty sure they know when enough is enough
