My female ball python, about six years old, suddenly has a bulge about halfway down her four-foot body or maybe a bit lower. She's an excellent eater and sheds often. She ate two weeks ago and again two days ago. Her demeanor is not at all changed, so she 's obviously not in any pain.

When I went to feed her a couple days ago I noticed her cage was not heating. I turned on the black light bulb to use until I get a new heating unit installed tomorrow. I'm guessing she's been without heat for a week, but here in Texas we're pretty warm anyway. The black light bulb does not keep her cage as warm as the ceramic heater does.

Took her to the vet and he did an x-ray. We really couldn't see much, but he thinks she has an infertile egg. Anyone have any experience with this?
