The way I figure is that if the animal was not forced to eat them (starving, no other food source) I'm sure it has a mechanism to prevent it from poisoning itself. As you know, there are many plants that tortoises/turtles consume that are known to be toxic to mammals.
If you're that frightened... take it to a vet.
I'd watch it for signs of odd behavior or not and act accordingly. I wouldn't worry about it. I've seen some of my guys munch on them.
