CRESTED GECKO QUESTIONS!

westsidestory May 21, 2005 06:59 PM

hi, I have a 8 month crested gecko, he is really cool. He was labled a FLAME morph...but when he was a baby his sides were a bit GREENISH? But npw, he is turing really dark...any guesses?

He also does not eat baby food, calcium, or the CGPowder...I dust the crickets off with Calcium and CGPowder but thats all the calcium he gets...I want to actually have him eat the powder mix and baby food...how do i do this? I've tried hand feeding him, he just turns away and runs up my arm haha...I need some help guys!...also...is paper towels okay for Crested Geckos?

I also want to know where i can get Unqiue and Different Morphs as a baby. I like to watch them grow. Anyone know any sellers? Thanks!!!!!!!!

Hi,

first of all, it might be interesting for you, that you have Rhacodactylus ciliatus at home.
Many of your questions are already answered in the Rhacodactylus forum.
Concerning food... Young animals tend to like crickets and other insects over smashed fruits and cgd. Every cresty has its own likes and dislikes and some will never really like baby food, on the other hand, some adults like smashed fruit rather than insects.

You never can tell.

sounds pretty good...
crested geckos change colors...such as (this is the same gecko)

and paper towels are perfectly fine...I keep all mine on paper towels...

there are many kinds being bred so don't know what you think of as unique...I have a pink patternless female (and a few of her babies) which I find pretty unique since I haven't seen them otherwise...here's my only photo that's captured her color

oh and about the cgd or cgd mixed with baby food...just leave it in a bottlecap in the cage...they will usually eat it, but it's hard to notice when some is gone sometimes
