another f/t question....

NotABigDeal May 21, 2005 08:27 PM

i have two ball pythons, they WILL NOT take anything but alive. i guess they like the prey to move?? so i guess my question is this, as long as feedings are supervised (they are both terrific eaters....hit the rat as soon as it moves a little), what harm can come to the snakes? i already stand there with a pencil that i put in the rats mouth if it tries to get bitey.

Thanks
Deal

try these tricks
toilet paper roll, put rat pup with face peeking out, move from the back a little with forcepts (I got this Idea from someone on one of these forums)
or
put rat on towel as substrate, with forcepts underneither, and poke the rat from under so it jumps a little
had one picky eater grab a pup in Mid air

just a couple tricks worked in this house
