blue tegu water

hello every one im planning on building a cage for my blue tegu. Should i put in a water pond with a filter would it like it or should i just get a big water dish?

If it were me, I'd just go with the big water dish. A pond with filter sounds like a good tegu toy, as in fill up the pond with substrata and watch the filter clog. You're tegu will have fun with it, but you will get stuck with the cleaning!

I agree with just using a big bowl. It'll drive you nuts trying to keep out the mulch otherwise.

Tegus are not monitor lizards. Give your blue a bowl just for drinking. They dont need a bowl to soak them selfs in . Provide a moist hide box instead. Thanks Russ

A drinking bowl/soaking pan is fine, but I would not do a pond unless it was very shallow. Though tegus can swim I would not leave one unsupervised with water that it could possibly drown in.
