Waterproofinga homemade enclosure...

AlteredMind99 May 22, 2005 03:41 PM

Hello,

We are going to be building an enclosure for my red tegu, he is about 20inches right now but growing fast, as this is going to be the first home made enclosure we have ever done...i have a few questions...

1. do the demensions 8Lx4Wx3H sound ok?
2. What should we use to waterproof the enclosure? Is there a certain paint that will be safe?
3. I am planning on having a plexi-glass front, what thickness of plexi-glass should i use?
4. Any other tips, suggestions, advice or anything would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

My other option is to of course go with a pre made enclosure to save time and stress. I was thinking of maybe going with a 6ft molded plastic enclosure like the vision cages. Which brands are the best and which would you recomend buying if i do decide to go this route?

Thanks so much for your responses
