It is about 100 degrees outside, and I would say a maximum of 85 in the chameleon room. Should I just turn my heat lamps off until it starts getting cooler (which will be months from now)?

Yes, that's easy. You could set the lights on timers so they come on for a while in the morning so the chams can get a warm up, turn off during the hot part of the day, and if needed, come on for a late afternoon bask. Just get a multiple setting lamp timer.
