What substrates w/satanics & live plants

HI all!
I am finally getting around to building the "permanent home" for my satanic leaftails. I have covered the back 3 sides of a 14 hex with tree fern panel. For my mantellas I usually do a layer of gravel for drainage and then a layer of peat and plant directly into that. But it definitely breaks down and washes away with time. From the reading in the archives I've done, it sounds like maybe a mix of coco fiber and reptibark (orchid bark) and possibly some osmunda fiber. I want to do this right, so please throw your opinions around.

I am planning on doing orchids and broms on the walls. I have a small ficus as a centerpiece and then I wanted to fill in with some pepperomia and dwarf african violets I recently acquired.
Thanks in advance!

for layering i personally lay pea gravel ( 3-4 inches) a layer of fiberglass screen ( to keep the layers from washing out) some soil mixed with sand ( others suggest using clay pellets) then soil, then eco earth on top. here's is a picture of the layering right after i put it in. it looks identical to that and it has been several months since i put it in. as for the plants, they all sound good, i would suggest putting in a few pothos or something as well. they are very hardy.

FOrgot to mention..I have Muhlenbeckia compacta, Philodendron sp. and Pecconia pulchra for ground covers. I could also throw in some creeping ficus if I need to. I am not crazy about Creeping ficus or Pothos because they grow too fast and require constant pruning.
