If a person is selling CH males for X amount of dollars, and CBB females for X amount of dollars, wouldn't you think that they would have some CH females as well? Well if this person has 25 or so CBB females, why would he/she sell CBB if you can get CH, which are sometimes a problem, and chose to keep them, and sell the CBB females. Just saw an add somewhere and it did not make sense. Maybe someone can elighten me....please...just did not make sense to me to keep the CH females, and sell the CBB females......((insert sarcasm here))call me stupid but.......

I don't know but ch females don't bring much more than cbb as hatchlings and ch adults sell for as much as cbb as long as they are doing well.

The difference is that cbb adult females will breed for you while ch adult females have a 50/50 chance that they will breed for you. And if ch adult females do breed in captivity they will sell for as cbb adult females. Thanks Scott Glover

What???? Where did you come up with the 50% stuff. I in no way buy that. If a ch female eats well and gets to breeding size it has just as good a chance to breed as cbb.

The only time ch is of any lesser quality is if it spends too much time in trasit ( stress, dehydration, ect.... Otherwise a healthy ch reptile is just as good as cb.

I ment transit not trasit. My point being that many ch are in poor shape by the time they get to the customer. CB get better attention from day one for the most part and that is why they seem to do better.

Sorry, I mean't if you buy a ch adult females from ghana or africa most of them will not breed for you. And if you buy a ch baby females and make sure they eat well and go to breeding size most of them will breed. Scott Glover

No problem. I didn't think it made sense. Anyway ch adult from Africa is a little unclear too. ch ( captive hatched ) generally means that the eggs and animal came from a wc female and are hatched in a captivity. I think wc ( wild caught ) is what you are thinking of.

It does not matter where they are born. If you import a wc female and she lays eggs here or there I would say they young are ch. It does get a little weird between cb and cbb. Really ch and cb are the same literally ( born in captivity ). cbb stand for captive born and bred. This implys that copulation was planed and put into action by a breeder. The term cb is a kinda shady. It can kinda go either way. Hope this all makes sense. If you are ever in the market for captive born and bred and someone is advertising cb make sure it is cbb. I think he must mean Wild Caught adults as well. My CH females are no different than my CB females. I'm still not sure about that 50% figure on the WC females. The females I have that were imported as adults have taken a little longer to acclimate, but have bred within 3 years for me.
