This species is beautiful but is should have been named striker because they do that well.

Hey Dan:
Another beauty! We should have a meanness contest between your Kanburi and my Mangrove Viper. She is the only snake in 30 years of keeping that will come out of hiding to try and bite me! She is hell on scutes!

Yea, I saw that link with the pic of the kanburi. They do not come after you so to speak unless for food but they bite the pink about 5 times and are about the most snappy snake I ever saw as compared with that slender hognose viper. I have not kept that purple mangrove species but read they grow large and are mean as heck. My borneo's were snappy as children but have calmed down quite a bit with age. Hopefully your little purple one calms with age. I have a recent wild caught puniceus that is also snappy. Time will tell if it adjusts and calms a bit.

Here is the female. I witnessed the male humping her for two weeks but did not see a hook up? Hopefully it happened. This species as you might already know is sexually dimorphic.
