Okay, I got off work. Lizard doesn't appear to be doing any better. Still not eating on its own.

I live in the middle of no where. All the vegetables and fruits are in poor condition at our 1 grocery store. The collard greens looked the least wilted. The nearest vet is 2 hours away and does horses and cattle.

I'll get the lizard some natural sun tomorrow.

My husband is most concerned about its tail he thinks it might be dead and my care might be fruitless...

If your local warm blooded vet is comfortable and willing to talk to an expierenced herp vet then he can do alot of good for your ig. He may even be able to handle it without calling another vet. If the tail is indeed dead then it can be removed. This is important to stop gangrene from spreading throughout the igs body, which can and will kill it.

Like Someone else posted. Getting it to drink right now is more important that force feeding it. Try some gatoraide. Weaken it with some water due to high sugar content. I find the fruit flavors are better. You can also try giving him some mashed up banana, due to its softness and ease in which he can chew it. Get a syringe from your local docotors office or a local dentist that used the curved syringes that are used for clenaing out extraction sites. The curved syringes will be a big help because you can just wedge it between his lips and squeeze or he can lick it.

Good Luck,
Heather
