problem

schism May 22, 2005 11:03 PM

I have 2 bearded dragons (one male, one female) but for the past month or so, the female's tail has been becomming sore for her, and she can't really move it anymore without it hurting her. There are also scabs forming. It has nothing at all to do with the enclosure set up, and it's not a result of the male dragon, I don't know what to do about it. There appears to be some stuck on shed, but it won't come off even after bathing her twice a day every day and applying canola oil to try to soften the skin. I'm out of ideas and am getting very very worried about her tail as it appears that if things don't get better, it will end up falling off. Any ideas??

Take her to the vet, it sounds like it may be infected and you will probably need some baytril to knock it out.

That sound like a problem I had w/ one of my beardies. I would take her to vet right away if you want to save the tail. I waited to long and now mine only has half a tail. My vet gave me some spray for his tail.
