My female dropped 15 eggs 15 mins ago. Got em in a hovabator on vermiculite that was dampened. Whats the best way to regulate humidity, by looking at eggs? As in what will they look like if too damp/too dry?

If they're too damp they'll sweat (have little droplets of water on them), if they're too dry they'll dent.

Ok so they dented in a bit on some of them over last night. i wetted the vermiculite more. will they fill back out or am i screwed? should i keep wetting till i SEE swet on em and then let it dry a bit? thanks for the help....-Jay
Ya, if they're fertile they'll plump back up. Only add a little water at a time, too wet is more dangerouse than a little too dry. Basically for a good starting point you should be able to squeeze a single drop of water out of a pinch of the vermic.

yeah, ive slowly added water and havent seen too much re-plumping. How long should it take for them to puff back out? I also rigged my incubator a little better, put it in a rubbermaid with water in the bottom and put a top with a couple holes in it on. Hopefully this will trap enough humidity without worrying about drip on the eggs.
