Need identification of wc snake

Here's a pic of a wild caught snake. The snake is quite docile and calm. Today it accepted a f/t fuzzy. So has a lot of good qualities. It has fallen into my possession as the boy who had it decided he would rather have a yearling amel cornsnake from the lfs. He wanted to release in our immediately area and I know that it's life would be short as most people around here would kill it and assume that they have done a good thing. I am in Southwestern Louisiana. I think it is either a cornsnake or ratsnake. Whatcha think?

See my post on another thread here. Texas Rats can be quite variable in overall color, tint, amount of pattern, etc., but in this case the solid dark head clinches it for me.
