Went hiking through Rockwood's Reservation near St. Louis, MO.
Found broad-headed and ground skinks, a fence lizard, and this little toad.
Photographed him using my new Nikon D70. Used a 28-80G lens instead of the stock 18-70. The 28-80 has a higher magnification than the 18-70. I used an old SB-27 flash in A mode. I had the camera in Aperture mode at ISO 200 at f8 (I think - I don't worry too much about the details.) I think I should use the on-camera TTL flash for future close-ups with the 28-80 lens. The 18-70 creates a shadow with the on-camera flash in close-ups.
Anyway - I like the photo and hope to do better in the future.
