Female Panther Cham possibly gravid again?

redoaksblues May 23, 2005 01:20 PM

Looking for some help...my lovely female nosey-b panther had those beautiful 25 eggs (which are incubating) 04/21/05. Two weeks ago she shows receptive colors and now has her gravid colors back...could be be gravid this soon from the one mating prior?

Thanx in advance!

Yes, she could! Its very likely that she will have retained some
sperm. The next clutch she lays could consist of some fertile
eggs and some that aren't.

Yes, she could have a clutch of infertile or fertile eggs. From my experience, the clutch after a mated clutch always was infertile...she laid less 9-12 eggs and they passed really easily and were also alot smaller. They might be fertile though...you never know!

She can drop fertile or infertile clutch/es.
My female Ambilobe laid 52 eggs the first time after breedingn (purchaed her gravid) and a month later dropped 42 fertile which are all incubating.

I was hoping to breed her to my male but looks like I have to wait for her to rest a couple of months.

Good luck with the eggs.
