Disposable reptile cage liner, need help

SnakeSense May 23, 2005 04:10 PM

There used to be a vendor advertise it's disposable reptile cage liner here in this forum but I lost it's web address. If anyone happened to have the web site address, will you please post it here. Any opinions on their products also highly appreciated, thanks.

I purchased a pre-cut package of them for my 3 foot by 2 foot cages and they have worked very well. Make cage cleaning a snap. Better than newsprint in my opinion because it doesn't stain the snakes and it's more durable.

Hi Lora,

Thanks for your information, will you please tell me how often you need to change the cage liner. How do you rate it's absorbent ability ? Are they dusty in nature which may create breathing problem for the snake? I have a small snake which is a baby about five inches long and I use Zoomed reptile carpet, I use to clean the carpet every three to four weeks and I like it much better than moss substrate because it is cost effective. Lately I am too busy and would like to skip the carpet cleaning process, so the disposable cage liner will be my solution but I would like to hear some user comments before I place the order for it.

I replace about every week to two weeks depending on snake "output". If the snake goes, I replace it. I guess with small snakes, you could spot clean it, but I just replace the sheet with each cage cleaning. It's pretty absorbant as far as water spills and such, but with the larger snakes I'm keeping on it, nothing is going to make the pile disapear. It's a sheet paper product, so no loose particles or dust. I used carpet years ago and I finally gave up on it. It wasn't absorbant at all and liquids just seeped through it to sit at the bottom of the tank (yuck). Also, I really hated scrubbing that carpet and then waiting for it to dry thoroughly. For a really clean cage that is easy to clean, paper is the best product I've found.
