Hatching Time?

sarah_boo977 May 23, 2005 05:04 PM

I have a baby leopard gecko that hatched today, waaay before expected. It's only been 42 days since her egg way laid... I thought it was 2 months for hatching time usually. She (or it should be a she, it was incubated at 84 degrees) seems very healthy and active. No deformations, and a fat little tummy. The other egg is smaller and doesnt seem to be ready to hatch yet. Is this baby just a freak early hatching?
Thanks for your opinions,
Sarah

Perfectly normal. Leos usually hatch anywhere from 30 to 80 days after the egg was laid.

Actually, it depends alot on the incubation temperatures. At 82° most of my babies hatch right on the 60th day. Temps at the exact egg position can and do vary in an incubator. Fluctuating temps can also effect incubation times, as well as what kind of equiptment you use, obviously.
