feed them potato wedges or orange quarters every couple of days. our crickets have devoured these.

i think it should work, but it will wilt quickly! potatoes can last a few days. we always use potatoes or oranges.

i feed my crickets a variety of things .. hatchling turtle food , fish flakes, gutload( which can be bought is pretty nice .. but i haven made homemade gut load before from old meals, peanuts, ect in the pantry ..stuff that was getting a little old or had nasty little bugs in it which the crickets who can become cannibles will eat the meal bugs and all NOTE: i feel gutload is more for keeping crickets not getting them ready for feeding)... you can feed crickets that you are going to feed soon any veggies fruits or greens you would feed your turtle.. which will add to their nutritional worth .. also adding a dusting of calcium and vitamins to their food will make them even more nurtitional ..

also if you are some one like me that pulls off their back legs so they cant hop off .. put the legs back into the cricket container .. the crickets will eat them .. i have watched crickets eat their dead, exoskeletons, others legs. they are quite carniorous .. BUT .. if you give them plenty of hiding spots . if there are only 12 large crickets .. a big jar with a crumpled up paper towel works nicely .. once all 12 are gone it makes clean up easy .. thow out the paper towel and reminates of food .. which do get a little moist and stick .. hot water gets those out though .. and vwalla nice and clean .. and it doesnt smell as bad
