how long til you can touch a gecko when it's shedding.

I got another two geckos, supposely females but I haven't attempted to fully checked, kinda scared to lift them up to see their underside. Not used to handling geckos.

Anyways. One shedded and it's the most friendly one. I'm not sure if she is done shedding cause she is hiding and I'm afraid to touch her or startled her.

So I was wondering how long does shedding takes and when can you touch them again?

Also I read some where that they might not shed completely around their toes of body how do you help them on that?

Oh and she is shedding in a normal hide not a moist one, should I be worried.

Sorry for all the questions. I'm a newbie.

Take an empty container, put some moist cotton balls, napkins or paper towels in, and put her in. Make an opening for her to come in and out. That will give her the moisture she needs and she'll take cae of the skin around her toes all by herself.

It is OK to pick them up when shedding, but it is best if you let them take care of their loose skin first and handle them later. They eat their skin to recycle nutrients.

For some reason she hates the moist hides. I made one and put her in it but she keeps going out. I put it in the warmest part of the tank and she goes back into a dry hide on the cool side.

Actually I noticed all my geckos are in dry hides. I'm soo confused!

I moved the moist hide to the cool side hoping she goes in but she doesn't seem to like it.

I don't get it. Am I doing something wrong?

Provide the moist hide, put it over a reptile heat mat, and let her be.
