Probably a dumb question but...

Will a bloods head change color as they mature. I notice that a lot of babys have orange heads and adults have the gray. I kind of assumed they changed and actually thought I read that somewhere but there is an ad in the classifieds that offers an orange headed blood. Thanks in advance, Eric-

i dont know about over a long period of time, but my bloods heads seem to take on different color variations in the early morning and in the evening time. nothing extreme like red to black though.

Some do, some dont.. just depends on the snake. You can usually get a good idea from the parents tho. If it was labeled as an orange head it was probably a black blood, or sumatran short tail python (P. curtus), not a red blood (P. brongersmai). They are typically born with variants in head color; orange, silver, and black/grey. Hope that helps.
