odd gator food

hello, i never in my life herd of this, but my sister just came back from new orleans.she told me that on her trip she went to an gator farm and that the man running it was feeding the gators marshmallows....anyone have any feed back on this. thanks Gerald ps i never feed that to mine.

I know people feed crocodilians a wide variety of "stuff". Marshmallows certainly hold absolutely NO nutritional value whatsoever. I personally would never feed marshmallows. I am not quite sure whether or not they could hold any health issues in the future, but I can't possibly imagine this individual feeding marshmallows as his ordinary diet and the animals still be alive.

Several alligator tourist attractions use marshmellows to feed alligators. It's a gimmick and the gators seem drawn by the white color.

It's easier to toss marshmellows than fish or chicken.
