Timor Monitor

levine May 24, 2005 01:35 AM

Have been looking into getting a timor but unsure of their behavior and habits.

Any reccomendations on Timors? I've been looking through the forum and they dont seem all that popular, any reasons why?

They are very shy. I have had Timors before and they hid a lot. They liked to hide anytime I was around. The second one I had I kept in a 2X4X4 enclosure w/ dirt substrate and a tree trunk that was forked in 3 directions. I saw this one and enjoyed it more than the first. They need a lot of climbing area since they are very similier to tree monitors.

I wouldn't mind having more, but I would get a trio. There are other monitors that would make better "pets" than Timors.

Timors are cool in their own way, and can be very enjoyable.
