This is in response to a post below re: L.A vet query.
For the last 9 years, I've taken my iguana and bearded dragons to Drs Rosskopf and Woerpl at Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital, 4871 W. Rosecrans Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, (310) 679-0693
Vegas was spayed by Rosskopf. Both drs have been working with Yucca (bd) on recovering from an infection to his spine; we think he may have permanent nerve damage, so he could be Mr Crooked Back Wobbly Guy, but the docs are still hoping that he will get better and retain better mobility.
The docs are very compassionate. We've taken in two abandoned iguanas from them and work with them to prepare the iguanas for their new homes. We received Lucky (~1-1.5 years) in January and adopted her out to her new home in February with a clean bill of health. We received Darby (~6-8 months) in mid March and aside from the roundworms we are treating, he's a healthy boy. I work with the igs in areas of socialization and potty training prior to adoption; meanwhile, I keep the vets abreast of their progress.
The staff has been overall wonderful to us.
