Very nice cal king! Is it a banded one? Thanks for sharing and continue showing off! Love seeing other people's animals!

I don't know to be honest what he/she is. Maybe you could tell me.

If you can take a pic from the vent & tail area I can probably tell you with ease wether it's a he or she.

Best I can do single handed.

Thanks.

Very good, clean pic!
You got yourself a male there! It is very obvious (to me & 25 years of looking at Kingsnakes). So, what's HIS name? LOL!

A pic of one of my last year's baby cal kings (also a male)

identifying the sex of this one for me please? Not a Kingsnake I confess. I found it much harder to photograph him or her as he wouldn't keep still. And then when I aimed I discovered there was very little to see!

Maybe you will be able to tell. Best wishes. Colleen

To be sure I would need to see at least 8-10 scale rows along with the vent. Right now it appears to be a male (corn). Post another pic so I can see a few more scale rows on the base of the tail. Then I can tell you 100% sure.(On males the tail usually does not taper much or none at all until after the eigth through tenth scale rows - On females the tail tends to start tapering right away or after about three scale rows only. This only applies to older snakes, not babies)

He's not an easy snake to take photos of and this is the best I can get within the size limit.

Thanks. Colleen
