Liquid Vitamin (again)

firefighter2598 May 24, 2005 03:55 PM

I asked this a while back and only seemed to spur an argument. I am looking for a liquid reptile vitamin. I used to inject one rat a month or so with liquid vitamin under the skin for supplamintation(sp) So if anyone could help me locate this I would appreciate it. Thanks

I haven't found one that I like. Instead, I moisten the rump area of a feeder rodent and sprinkle, JUST A LITTLE, with a 50/50 mix of RepCal and Herptivite (no more than once every month or so for my adults). This just helps make up for any vitamin deficiencies as a result of keeping food frozen.

Has anyone ever heard of supplementing Thiamin( B1 ) in f/t prey?
Just wondering because of the Thiaminase that builds up in dead prey.
Is this a problem that any research has been done on?

Reproducable laboratory studies are severely lacking in reptiles, although I believe that the products previously mentioned would also contain thiamin.

I personally do not supplement my rodent feeders, but that's a matter of opinion rather than based on anything substantial.
