Nother' Sandhills Kingsnake:

BlueKing May 24, 2005 06:56 PM

Went herping in the sandhills with my 12 year old son and he flipped this nice little chained girl (yearling) in Richmond county NC.
E. Kings are pretty rare in the sandhills. They are only found in the low lying areas (creeks/swamps) which are scattered intermittenly within the higher (drier) elevation sandhills.

There was a small piece of board that looked unsuitable to me, so I skipped it on purpose and it was too close to the road! I glanced at it and thought that nothing would be under THAT little baord ! My 12 year old son proved me, (the EXPERT), WRONG!!! OUCH!!! LOL! Thanks to him we didn't come away empty handed and I was very happy that he'd finally found something nice!

By the way Peter, this one was found about 75 feet from where we found the other, larger, female!
