Caiman in Colorado

Dewback May 24, 2005 08:53 PM

I will be moving to CO this summer and I need to know if caiman are legal there. The book I have as well as websites I have visited say that caimans are specifically listed on Colorado's unregulated animal list. Alligators, Crocodiles, and Gavials need permits but caimans do not. I was just in Denver last weekend and every pet shop I visited had a caiman in it. I don't know if they are breaking the law or if my sources are wrong (the book is a bit dated). I hope someone can clear this up for me. Thanks
