Something weird, color change of a green iguana.

Tor038505 May 24, 2005 11:55 PM

I have 2 iguanas. A two year old female which i aquired wed of last week, and a 11 month old male that i got for christmas. Ever since I got the female the male has been very MALE. lol
But today it was different. I let them free-roam when i'm home around my room and in the bathroom(tub) and I was going to get the male out of his cage and he was very fiesty. He also turned almost a pure black color. His head is shedding so it's really awkward. I don't have any pictures because my camera is dead so that's out of the question. Was just wondering if anyone has seen this before or anything. I'm pretty sure they mated cause I came in on them doin the dirty the other day. Right now they're in the bathtub so that shed will come off completely and so they can have some play time, they love the water.

Rex does this to me every once-and-awhile, particularly when he's shedding. Black is the iguana "angry" color; my Rex is a particularly feisty fellow, and he is *very* sensitive during a shed.
