First time snake buyer seeking help!!!

guitarbum01 May 25, 2005 01:57 AM

Hey I am a snake fan, but have never owned one before. I have owned a few geckos so I have a tank already, and understand about keeping my animals healthy. However, I am unsure of what kind of snake to get. I want one I can handle, I only have a 10 gallon tank and I have no idea what to get. So please bombard this post with suggestions.

Well a 10 gallon tank is too small for a boa or python, so you could try getting some kind of corn snake.

You can START a corn in a 10, but that will be too small for an adult corn. A 10 is a great starter tank, but you will eventually need to get something bigger.

a 10 gallon is too small for any full grown snake, IMO. you are planning on getting a bigger tank as the time goes on, correct?
