Custom made double layer wire cage, always locked, and in a locked room.

Gorgeous viridis you have there Dan! They are easily one of the most beautiful snakes on the planet. It's too bad they're so dang hot eh? lol Do you ever have any issues with rubbing on the wire top? The viridis I kept for a short time didn't seem to rub against anything in the enclosure, but some boomslangs I kept in a screen mesh enclosure rubbed enough to warrant their removal into a new one. Anyway, great pictures.

Chance: Well I have not noticed it yet but it basks and seems to be at ease with its enclosure. I have the boomslangs also but they were captive born and they do not rub like wild caughts. Same thing with my jacksons tree snake, the wild ones rub, the captives rub much less. If it did have that problem, I would add another layer but instead use that rubber coated wire mesh to help prevent injuries to its face from rubbing. I found that keeping them more than well fed also reduces their desires to move about so much. Good lighting and a nice elevated hidebox also helps.

LOL...Dan the title took me by surprise but now I see what you were refering too

Nice specimen!! Just a fantastic species. I had the same thought as Chance about the nose rubbing. Looks like a great cage.

Cheers,

Al
