Just thump them in the head or something, they all end up the same way......as monitor poop.

Back when i used to keep Boas (before I started buying frozen rodents), I used what was called a Rat Zapper. It runs on 4 AA batteries. There are two metal plates at the end of it, and when the rodent goes to the end of the chamber, it contacts the two plates, and zap, it's over in a matter of 2-3 seconds. I'd like to think it's painless since it happenns very fast.

You can make an effective CO2 chamber from any deep container with a lid, and dry ice is the way to go. The dry ice should be in a tray raised well off the floor of the chamber, and adding some water to it will increase the rate of CO2 production. CO2 is heavier than air and will settle and fill the chamber -- let it do so for a few minutes before you add the feeder animals.
