Mine are just in an unmodified Hova right now with perlite substrate. Temps fluctuate around 93, but a new thermostat should stabilize that kind of thing.
I could only convey what I've been told and I'm not having a lot of success, so it's enough to leave it at that point.
This is my first time through and it's not going very well, so I'll be putting some intense effort and research into the project. I'll be making some attempts at pre-sterilizing the substrate and water, sanitizing the incubator, the lay box/birthing container and its substrate, etc. Things it's way too late for now.
I'd like to quantify the process. I can't accept that it's a black art that isn't scentifically approachable. I'm sure there will always be losses for one reason or another, but efficiency/reliabliliy has got to be better than a coin toss.
