Andy_ribbit May 26, 2005 04:33 AM

help! i have two relatively young whites tree frogs. one of them has recently become ill and refuses to feed. when ever food is placed neer her (i say her, this in#s only a guess) she actively backs away from it. she also displays a gaping mouth from tome to time, sitting with her mouth open for long periods. i have seperated her from the other one (whe seems to be fine.). her temperature stays at a steady 28-29 degrees, has regular calcium supliments, water is changed daily and tank is cleaned once a week. this has been happening for about three weeks, and she has definately not eaten for 10 days. plz help!!!!

The gaping mouth is a sign of respiratory problem. You will need to get the sick frog to a vet. In the mean time, you need to quarantine the sick frog. I would change the others frogs enclosure, too. Make a sure their enclosures are lined with moist paper towels and their water is dechloinated and changed daily. And make sure the humidity levels are correct. Respiratory problems can stemp from to much or too little humdity. Other than that, there's not much you can do with out a vet visit. Sorry to hear this. Hope it all turns out well. Let me know what happens. Good Luck.
