My friends red eared slider is sick and she, nor the vets in the area know what to do about it. ahe says that there is something blue and sac-like coming out of it's rear end and she doesn't know what it is. If anyone has any ideas on what it is, please let me know.

That is his penis, he is perfectly normal and fine. The behavior where they push it out is called fanning. Yes, it is very large and scary looking.

this may in fact also be a prolapsed organ of another type. I would not automatically assume it is ok.

if its out for more than an hour (?) at a time its probably prolapse. there is a picture of a turtle's penis on this forum somewhere. look for it and compare.
