I never cycled my burms when I used to breed them many years ago. If you are going to cycle them, you just need to go easy on the temp drops (I would recommend always providing a warm basking area w/just slightly cooler ambient temps....no lower than 75-78 deg F. and a basking spot that reaches 92). But, that really isn't necessary. Personally, there is very little market and need for any more baby burms; most will just end up being abandoned. >>I have read from different sources that there is no need for thermal cycling for the breeding of burmese pythons, but I have also read that there is a need for it. I tried thermal cycling last year and both snakes got respiratory infections because it was too cold. I was wondering if anyone had some insight into my problem. I am also going to try for breeding (if thermal cycling is needed) starting in September. Is this too early????
