Boas Species to keep in a tub with 36X22X5?

Palex134 May 26, 2005 07:24 PM

I think Columbians may be on the big side for these demensions. What other species could be kept in this tub? I know hoggs could, Are there any other species that could be?

Hi friend!

Boa is a montypic genus (only one species)..

All the variation we see is subspecies (and locality). There's a pretty good write up on this in my website.

I hope this helps you!

Hello,
I personally feel that no Boa Constrictor (ssp) will fit as an adult in a tub the size you just stated. At least not as an adult. The Height is just too small for them, even the smaller ones light the insular Boas would need more space to up with. It would be like living in the Tiny House on that Gieco commercial. I have seen the rubber maid style tubs that are 33 x 18 x 13 and those would propably do better for the really small Boas.
Good Luck

I would think that tub is toooo tight for any adult species of boa... Maybe try Ball pythons or corn snakes, that tube would provide more room for those species, but Boas need more room than that

Sincerley,
Rose
