breeding size

hi i have a pair right know my male is relly big close 2 5 feet and i think he might be getting old i havnt seen him breed the female but she as droped eggs but they all went bad i have a young male that iam growing up right now and i was woundering when i shpuld try him out for a breeder i know that they can breed at 9 months old but they can be any size at that age i dont know the age of my small male so i wanted 2 know what would be a good size 2 try and breed him at i also heard that big male argus monitors dont make good breeders he might be getting old 2 i have never seen him breed my female but i got eggs that looked fertile but thay all went bad i still have 2 that i havent tossed yet but they are geting green spots and
one is getting soft i didnt expect 2 get it right the first time but i want 2 produce argus monitors some day. my female argus monitors ate her own eggs as any one else had this prolbem if so let me know she droped her second clutch 3 weeks from her first one i found 2 brown messed up eggs in her crap thats how i know she ate them i knew the male would eat them but i didnt know the female would

sry i wasnt 2 clear with what kind of monitor i was talking about but can some one please help me out
