I was on my way back to the shop today to call it a weekend. I saw a large DOR snake, figuring it was a rattlesnake I stopped to check it out. When I got closer I realized it was a very long and robust coachwhip. I'm 6'3", holding it by the tail I lifted it over my head with my arm extended to get an approximate length. As I did this the head still dragged the ground. My guess on weight would be near 5 lbs maybe more. This is the first coachwip I've seen in this area. . .I'll have to get out and herp the area more often rather than just enjoying the drive.
