HerperHelmz May 27, 2005 11:31 PM

Muttly looks just like a GA eastern king I have. Nice looking animals no doubt.

here's a New Mex. milk for now.

HerperHelmz May 28, 2005 11:25 AM

That is an adult female regal ringneck snake(ringless, yes), the giants of the ringneck family, record length is 38". It's eating a 10" shorthead garter snake(T.brachystoma). Nice milk.

And the white one? Here's a 01' MBK that i traded off last march.

HerperHelmz May 28, 2005 11:40 AM

The white one is an albino northern ringneck snake in shed.

Nice, dark snake. Here is a pic of a melanistic eastern garter snake mating with a NY locale blue eastern female.

Let me guess, african house snake? I agree with you about rats, i would rather feed a 5 or 6 foot colubrid 2 to 4 jumbo mice than a rat.

HerperHelmz May 28, 2005 02:18 PM

Nope, adult pine woods snake(Rhadinaea flavilata), that specimen actually set the new record length. 16.5".

HerperHelmz May 28, 2005 05:10 PM

Very interesting indeed. I hope to be the first to breed them as soon as I can locate an adult female, they are kind of rare.

Here is a pic of a different GA eastern king I had. Died though..

The other one I have has a different pattern and looks similar to Muttly.

Check out this nice looking snake...this pic might end up in Brian Hubbs' new kingsnake book if I can ever figure out how to get pics onto a CD.

Never seen em here, I go thru 80-100 mice a week, only have 80 plus snakes but some get fed twice a week. And some get 2-3 jumbo adults every week. here is a blotched-X-foridana i picked up last march.
Image

HerperHelmz May 28, 2005 01:15 PM

I bet that snake was alot more colorful as a hatchling...is that a hypo, or an albino?

HerperHelmz May 28, 2005 02:21 PM

That was an adult female melanistic eastern garter snake chowing down on a hopper mouse.

The adult isnt bad looking but true the baby was incredible looking. Dont all snakes become drab as adults to some extent?
Thanks
