If you know who the children are, can you ask them if they know where your little gecko is? You might be able to tell from how they answer whether they handled it or if it skedaddled away fast enough and is just hiding. Remember that it won't be active until tonight and may be easier to find then. Good luck!

When you find it again, you may have to put a lock on your door or in an enclosure that can be locked. I purchased screen tops with clips that I even have trouble opening that I use at shows sometimes when the children are too numerous to watch closely. To lure it out in the open tonight, smash up a strawberry or eat a banana and leave the peel out where you will notice the little guy coming for it. They have excellent sense of smell and those fruits send a lot of fragrance thru the air.

I would check on the floor as funny as this sounds some of my adults will hide under the newspaper. Also check behind clocks, pictures, etc.

Hope you find him/her.

I lost a 6 month old juvi the other day. He turned up in my kitchen 4 days later (about 15 paces away). So he must of been smelling food or something. I put ym tub of crickets on the floor, but it never attracted it.

I had one escape at college this semester, and with the heat/ac ducting, i thought it could be anywhere. I found it a week and a half later no more than 5 feet from the cage, hiding in a crack next to my dresser, i would look closely around the room, as it is more than likely still very close by, even if it did move around, im sure it will turn up. good luck!, just put out water in areas you think it would be likely to access.

i would agree, so long as there's no cats or dogs in the area you will most likely stumble across it.
i've had 3 get out in the past year.
first one i tore the whole reptile room apart and found it in the closet behind some board games
second one i didn't even know was out and walked in and it was sleeping on a plant leaf
third one i didn't slide a rack drawer in all of the way, and it was almost right on top of the rack where it's drawer was.
good luck and let us know if you find it.
