So here she is getting ready to lay another clutch soon. A few more weeks. As you can see she enjoys a good watering these days.

*Cheers*

How did she learn to pose like that? Do you force her to watch that model reality show?
You can see she is full of eggs. What are her eating habits before laying?

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Hi Scott,
Well she eats as normal she just moves from medium rats to small and from every other day feeding to one small every three or four days. She drinks more than anything, but latly I noticed that she isn't drinking from her water bowl regularly instead I have to "make rain" for her at least once a day for a few moments. That is when I snapped these picts. She seems to love to lap the water now from her head and the side of the water bowl and wall.

Yeah that one pict you can see three very well defined eggs along her side wall. She started to do the tail suck and so I guess she is gonna lay soon within the next week or so. Seems to get longer every clutch from that tail suck to deposition :P

Anyway thanks for looking,
Will post picts if she lays of the new clutch.

Cheers,
JC

I'm partial to a pointy snout myself, but she is a cutie She looks so tiny, but that could just be my perspective. I wish I could tell the difference between males and females. I have been pouring over my archives to study the monitors of known gender, trying to get a sense of it. I have seen so few monitors beside my own IRL. I would love to see a whole body shot of her. Where it cuts off at the tail looks like a bulge to me... I would have guessed male from the picture because of that, even though she has a really pretty little danty head.
Thanks for sharing and goodluck with those eggs!

Hi Holly,
Actually this female is about 39 inches long. Most females have a softer rounded face, the pointy nose you refer to is a males feature. Every once in a blue a female does have a more pointed "beak" but usually that is an imature male waiting for his bulbouse snout to grow in.

I will post pictures of these babies next to one another and this male and female there really is a major difference that you might better be able to see with these pictures. Also my males tail base is a six inch girth as compaired to this females four, yet side by side he only out stretches her by a few inches
