Is this a good deal?

wing May 27, 2005 07:57 PM

I bought a 2001 adult male albino kingsnake that is 3 ft long for $125.00 shipped. The coloration is really good. White, red yes, and almost perfect stripe on top of its body. But i don't really know if it's a good deal or just mediocre...

Please... need... opinion...

It mostly depends on what the snake is worth to you. When shopping for certain snake morphs the best thing to do is check what prices the classifieds have and what the established breeders are asking.

That's the thing. I get mixed messages. I usually see baby albinos go for $125.00 on average. The cheapest baby albino I found from a reputable breeder is $93.00 shipped. But I really don't know what is more expensive and have a higher value-- an adult or a baby?

It depends, there are advantages to buying an adult. You know right away that its a quality snake, many neonates start of with brighter and better defined colors then they will have as adults, so you have to trust the breeder. Also an adult is ready to breed and generally alot hardier. The disadvantage is if you are being sold a snake that has been determine to be a poor breeder or is much older then you think. From your description, I'd say it was a good deal. Every snake is unique, if you are happy with it, then it's worth the price.

...you already said you bought the snake. It must have been a pleasing deal for you if you bought it. You like the coloration..it's got a perfect stripe..what's the problem?

I bought it online so it's not really here yet... The reason I'm asking is because I want to know if I got a good deal. There's no problem.
