Here is a picture of a new morph

J_SAVKOV May 27, 2005 08:43 PM

This is the unnamed morph. It was a large clutch, it has several siblings, one of which is I believe is the super version. The pics do the animal no justice, it has a combination of maroons and oranges that I have never seen in a ball before. They are all striped. If anyone has a suggestion for a name I am open to them. Thanks again, be patient, more to come.

Very nice! Looks like the one on pg.40 of the Ball Python Manual.

I have seen many like that before. For a lot of them the genetics do not work out to be simple domniant or recessive, but polygenic.

Good luck

I believe the morph that you are thinking of may be a coffee ball. This new morph that I acquired was from a cluch of 9. Within this cluch of 9 there were 2 normals, 6 (like the one in the picture) & the last I believe to be the super.

Take care...

I have seen a couple of those around, can't remember exactly who has them, off the top of my head I think Wyatt has one and maybe Jared but there are some out there.

I don't remember the exact name given to them, but as I recall there was a similar situation where there were many similar snakes in one clutch, but out breeding resulting in normal looking snakes and back crossing of those normal offspring to their parents also resulted in normal looking snakes, but breeding the siblings together resulted in a mix of normals and morphs. So the genetics were not straightforward and I don't know what the current state of the project is. This is what I remember...not 100% on this.

Yours might not be the same,

good luck
