dragon's&scorpions?

dragonvet May 28, 2005 07:51 PM

my dragon halo just ate a tiny scorpion the size of a pin head. i have heard of leopard gecko's eating scorpions, and i know b. dragons are dessert reptiles. does any one think this mishap will cause any side affects? i just got her better from a slight impaction. any way i was adding sifted fine playsand, that i got out of our shed and i saw somthing move and by the time i figured out what it was she gulped it down. also i have a q? about impactions after her first poop how long should i wait before putting her back on solids? iam feeding her 1cc mix strawberry gatoraid and squash baby food daily. any input would be great.

I have no idea about the scorpion, I've never had any of mine eat one but I'd say if she isn't showing symptoms yet you're probably in the clear. One question, you say she's just getting over an impaction, then why are you still keeping her on sand? If she's passing stools fine then you're probably good to start back in with solid food.

I agree. Sometimes animals that have impactiuons once are more prone to them...its probably pretty dangerous to have him still on sand
